Soil & Bark Products

Our Landscape Yard carries premium Soil and Bark products imported from suppliers throughout Northern and Central California to ensure we have the best products available for our customers. Our Organic Compost is certified by OMRI and our Playground Fiber is approved by the State of California as a shock absorbent fiber. These products are available for pick up at our Colfax yard or delivery service is available.

Nitrified Humus This is considered an all purpose, light and airy soil amendment. It is particularly good for incorporation into heavy clay soils and can also be used as a top dressing around plantings. Its content is fir and redwood screened at 0 to 1/4" and treated with nitrogen and iron.	$27.50
Mushroom Compost Our Mushroom Compost is a rich mixture of Wheat Straw, Canola, Cottonseed Meal & Hulls, Gypsum, Dehydrated Chicken Manure, and Urea. When tilled in the ground this versatile soil amendment produces dramatic results for almost anything you want to grow. For existing flower beds, planters and vegetable gardens, mushroom compost makes a nutrient rich top dressing that will help your plants thrive.	$28.50
Screened Topsoil Our Screened Soil is a rich, fertile, screened topsoil from the Central Valley.	$30.50
Organic Compost Derived from yard trimmings and grass clippings in the Yuba Sutter area, these materials are collected, ground and allowed to compost for several months. This is a great example of how well recycling can work.	$30.50
Blended Topsoil Our Blended topsoil is a custom mixture of a slightly sandy-screened, mushroom compost, organic compost, and nitrified humus. We can also blend our products to your specifications.	$32.50

Medium Fir Bark Medium Fir Bark (3/4" to 2") is ideal for larger foundation planting areas. It conserves moisture and promotes weed control. When used in pool area landscaping, it is large enough to resist being blown into the pool.	$42.50
Small Fir Bark Small Fir Bark is the most popular size (1/4" to 3/4") for landscape mulching because of its density and uniformity. It offers excellent moisture retention and weed retardation.	$42.50
Mini Fir Bark Mini Fir Bark is our smallest and most delicate appearing bark. It is ideal for smaller planting areas, potted plants or anywhere a more subtle look is desired.	$42.50
Shredded Redwood Bark Shredded Redwood Bark is moderately priced mulching material produced at sawmills in the de-barking process. It is stringy and fibrous and is sometimes called "Gorilla Hair". Redwood bark is free of salt, clods, foreign weed and weed seeds. It holds on slopes, retains moisture and promotes weed controll.	$35.50
Shredded Cedar Bark A shredded bark derived from cedar with beneficial characteristics of moisture retention and weed control couples with a natural forest appearance. This products lends itself well to slopes.	$32.50
Walk-On Fir Bark Walk-On Fir Bark is a combination of small bark and wood fibers. The interlocking of particles provides good erosion control and stays in place on slopes. It presents a natural forest appearance.	$38.50
Playground Fiber Playground Fiber is a resillient surface developed to prevent playground injuries. It's all natural, free of chemicals, additves and foreign matter. Only virgin wood is used, not jobsite lumber or pallets.
